This course includes the 70 – 649 TS: Upgrading Your MCSE on Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, Technology Specialist. Exam 70 – 649 is an upgrade exam that is a composite of three stand-alone exams: Exams 70 – 640, 70 – 642, and 70 – 643. Exam 70 – 649 validates skills related to the core technology features and functionality of Windows Server 2008, from the existing knowledge base of a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) on Windows Server 2003.

This comprehensive Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 upgrade instructor-led boot camp includes installing and administering an Active Directory as well as Configuring Additional Active Directory Server Roles, Configuring IP Addressing and Services, Configuring Network Access, Deploying Servers, Configuring Terminal Services, and Configuring a Web Services Infrastructure. Training also includes Windows Vista configuration and  skills related to the core technology features and functionality of Windows Server 2008, from the existing knowledge base of a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) on Windows Server 2003 . Students will be trained on DNS, IP-Subnetting, WINS, DHCP, Security templates, Group policies, SQL Server administration and Design, remote access configuration, and more are also covered.

Our course also focuses on system administration, help desk support, information security, and project management in the enterprise.

Prerequisites

Although not required, our program is designed to teach IT professionals Active Directory and Security concepts and assumes that students have working prior knowledge. Students should also have working knowledge of TCP/IP, Group Policies and DNS. Up to one year of managing a SQL server environment is also highly recommended. No prerequisites are required for the Cisco® portion of this program. If you are not sure you are meeting the requirements, please call to discuss the prerequisites with our instructors.
